Live From the Rock Day Three
The performance of the weekend came on day three of the 2010 Red Rock Folk Festival when 19-year-old Australian Kim Churchill took to the stage in the hot afternoon sun.
Churchill's acoustic, one-man show brought the sun-drenched crowd to its feet. His soulful voice and explosive fingerpicking guitar style, combined with bluesy harmonica licks quickly energized the crowd who demanded more. A multi-tasking genius, Churchill also incorporated a tambourine (which he played with his foot) and the pounding of a kick drum.According to festival organizers, this year's event brought some of the greatest numbers through gates and in the campground, with camping passes sold out on Saturday night.
