Edge of the Earth: Aysanabee
Aysanabee exploded onto the Canadian music scene to national attention and acclaim in 2022, and his latest album, Edge of the Earth, proves that he has much more to say—and we are eagerly listening. Fans will instantly recognize Aysanabee’s powerful, emotive voice and lyrical storytelling. However, while his debut album Watin was more of a concept album featuring conversational interludes, Edge of the Earth is a genre-defying reflection on love and loss, proving that this artist is not easily contained. The album starts off slow and vulnerable, with tracks like “Ember” and “The Way We’re Born” relying on Aysanabee’s soulful voice; the album picks up pace (and optimism) in the latter half, with tracks like “Edge of the Earth” and “Dream Catcher” building tempo and background vocals for a gospel-like breakthrough. Aysanabee even dips his toe into country and electro territory, yet the album remains balanced and cohesive. Simultaneously vulnerable and triumphant, Edge of the Earth demonstrates a commanding step forward in Aysanabee’s musical journey: one that is clearly only getting started.
