Previewing Pride 2025
A Sneak Peek For Drag Fans
Story by Jimmy Wiggins, Photo by Wiggins Productions
It's the most colourful time of year. Pride season has arrived and when it comes to the TBay Drag crew, we’re going full force. Here’s a list of events where you can find some of your favourite queens, kings, and drag performers throughout June.
June 5 – Fort William First Nation Drag Show @ FWFN Arena
This one holds a special place in our hearts. What started as a one-off Drive-By-Drag event has morphed into an annual show that just keeps getting bigger and bigger each year. Although it’s typically held in the parking lot of the Youth Centre, we decided to move this one indoors to avoid any potential issues with the weather—no one likes a wet wig or runny makeup. Everyone is welcome to attend this free, family-friendly event co-hosted by Faux Rocious and Shaela Vie.
June 13 – Drag Queen Paint Night @ Red Lion Smokehouse
Grab your brushes and put on your favourite smock frock, because we’re painting the town rainbow! No experience needed as seasoned artist Mz. Molly Poppinz guides you step-by-step to create your own one-of-a-kind masterpiece. Each guest will be provided with all the paint and materials you'll need to bring your fabulous creation to life. Check Eventbrite for ticket details.
June 14 – Pride DJ Night @ Black Pirates Pub (19+)
Typically, when we do shows at BPP, it’s all drag, all night. But we’ve had more than a few requests for a DJ night, so we’re bringing you a dance party like never before. We’ll have very talented DJ Ariah as well as DJ Amber Ail, who will be making her debut on the decks, spinning all night, plus a few go-go dancers along the way. Expect queer classics, high-energy bangers, and a dance floor hotter than a Miami beach in July.
June 18 – Drag Bingo @ Norteños Cantina (19+)
If you’ve never been to drag bingo, you need to check this one out. Drag bingo is like regular bingo, but hosted by powerhouse MC Mz. Molly Poppinz and special guest Ivan Love. Expect prizes, lots of laughs, a few performances, and endless shade through the night. This is a free event, but leave the kids at home, as this is a very adult event with a lot of mature (and immature) content.
June 25 – Diva’s Trivia Night: Queer Pop Culture @ Lakehead Beer Co. (for Mature Audiences)
Prove you’re the smartest b*&%$ in the room and win some amazing prizes as our fabulous queens and kings test your knowledge of all things queer pop culture. Grab your team (up to six) or play solo. We’ll be covering music, TV, movies, celebrities, and more. There’s no cost to play and only one team will reign supreme.
June 28 – Story Time and Crafting with Queens & Kings @ Waverley Library
Join Shaela Vie and Inova Guy for a magical afternoon of storytelling, followed by crafting with Fairy Contagious and Devin Devine. This is a family-friendly, interactive, and joy-filled celebration of diversity and acceptance, where stories come to life with glittering energy, vibrant characters, and a whole lot of heart!
July 5 – Pride After Dark @ Black Pirates Pub (19+)
This is the big one. Following the Pride Festival, when the sun goes away, the drags come out to play. We’ve been hosting this Pride afterparty for several years, and it keeps getting bigger and bigger. We’ll be showcasing a massive cast of talented queens, kings, and non-binary performers from all over Thunder Bay and Northwestern Ontario. Keep an eye out on Eventbrite for ticket info. Pro tip: get your tickets early, because this one sells out every year.
