Beaux Daddy’s Thunder Bay’s Can-Indian Restobar

There’s a famous Sanskrit verse, “Atithi Devo Bhava,” which translates to “a guest is akin to God.” Sukhjot Khan, owner of Beaux Daddy’s Thunder Bay’s Can-Indian Restobar, credits this ethos for much of the success he and his team have enjoyed over their last year in business.

Khan reopened the doors of the historic restaurant on Highway 61 last December, keeping the restaurant’s previous name but instead serving a massive menu of both Indian and North American cuisine, and says their first year has been very encouraging. Beaux Daddy’s was flooded with positive feedback in online dining groups upon opening, and it only takes one visit to see what all the hype is about: warm and friendly staff, the cosy atmosphere of Uncle Frank’s Supper Club mixed with opulent Indian decor, and delicious, flavourful dishes make this gem a must-try (and afterwards, a must-return).

“I handpicked my chefs, and they are not only good at the food, they are good at the human values,” Khan says. Whether you’ve visited Beaux Daddy’s in-restaurant or checked out their food stall at a handful of events over the summer, you’ll know their knack for hospitality certainly lends itself to serving up food cooked from the heart. “We cook the food as we cook for our own family members,” Khan says.
