Lanie Mores: Code of Reanimation

I wasn’t sure what to expect from the novel Code of Reanimation by local author Lanie Mores, as paranormal thrillers are not typically my choice of genre. Although this tale offers up a distinctly suspenseful and creepy vibe, in the end what surprised me most is the strong underlying theme of mental health awareness, survival, and the resilience of the human spirit. In this spin-off from Mores’s Father of Contention series, we follow the main character, Brigita Nowak, as she escapes the psychiatric prison she’s been trapped inside for most of her life—a life filled with pain and tragedy. The plot is completely unexpected and blurs the line between fantasy and reality. I felt fully immersed in the hauntingly vivid world fraught with tension, conspiracy, and unexpected heroes. It is well written, with extraordinary descriptions and well-developed characters. Code of Reanimation kept my heart racing with all its action. I would recommend this book to any fans of science fiction or psychological thrillers.
