As we get older, we can lose that joy and wonder of exploration—but fortunately, there are lots of folks who keep it as part of their adult lives. In this issue of The Walleye, we celebrate some of the local artisans and makers who put their own unique and beautiful stamp on the world using components from the forests, fields, and beaches of Northwestern Ontario."- Bonnie Schiedel [/et_pb_text][et_pb_code _builder_version="4.24.2" _module_preset="default" link_option_url="https://issuu.com/thewalleyemagazine/docs/walleye_april_2024_screen?fr=xKAE9_zU1NQ" global_colors_info="{}"]z

Whether it’s bird calls, the sound of rushing water, or even just the fresh air, I feel like immersing yourself in nature provides inspiration and lights aspark for creativity—especially being surrounded by the boreal forest and Lake Superior, it’s hard not to feel that inspiration no matter what your creative medium is. I would even venture that this is why we have so many talented artists in Northwestern Ontario. For our June issue, we’re focusing on artists who are not only inspired by nature but who incorporate elements in their work. As part of our cover story, Sidney Ulakovic stops by Willow SpringsCreative Centre to find out about their Donning Nature Open Studio; Bonnie Schiedel attends Fort William First Nation’s fifth annual hide camp; and Kelsey Raynard explores the legacy of amethyst art. Plus, we profile nine artists who use nature in their artwork." -Adrian Lysenko [/et_pb_text][et_pb_button button_url="https://issuu.com/thewalleyemagazine/docs/walleye_june_2024_screen?fr=xKAE9_zU1NQ" url_new_window="on" button_text="READ NOW" button_alignment="center" _builder_version="4.24.2" background_layout="dark" custom_margin="168px||1px|||" custom_padding="3px||0px|||" global_colors_info="{}"][/et_pb_button][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built="1" admin_label="Footer Section" _builder_version="4.16" background_color="#1e1d1c" custom_padding="90px||90px|" global_colors_info="{}"][et_pb_row column_structure="1_3,1_3,1_3" admin_label="Footer Area" _builder_version="4.16" global_colors_info="{}"][et_pb_column type="1_3" _builder_version="4.16" custom_padding="|||" global_colors_info="{}" custom_padding__hover="|||"][et_pb_text ul_type="none" admin_label="Title" _builder_version="4.17.4" text_font="Poppins||||||||" text_text_color="rgba(255,255,255,0.7)" text_font_size="16px" text_line_height="1.8em" ul_font="Poppins||||||||" ul_text_align="center" header_font="||||||||" header_2_font="Poppins||||||||" header_2_text_align="center" header_2_font_size="24px" header_2_line_height="1.4em" text_orientation="center" background_layout="dark" custom_margin="||15px|" custom_padding="|||" animation_style="fade" global_colors_info="{}"]
