Missing travel? Craving a taste of culture? You’re in luck. Thunder Bay’s Multicultural Association is hosting the Annual Folklore Festival this weekend, May 6-7th, at the Fort William Gardens and Curling Club. With international foods, imported wines and beers, and “shop-the-world” booths, this two-day event is all about celebrating the ethnocultural and Indigenous communities that make Canada one of the most diverse and interesting places in our world. This year’s celebration of the rich cultural heritages in Thunder Bay is sure to be extra special, as the Association honours its 50th anniversary of hosting the region’s most colourful event of the year. With displays from local artists, live music and a dance on Saturday night, and free activities for children running from 12-6pm both days, this event has something for everyone. You’re not going to want to miss out.
Events, exhibits, and activities will run from 12 to 11pm on Saturday and 12 to 7pm on Sunday. There will be a free draw courtesy of Delta Hotels by Marriott Thunder Bay for a stay-cation, and music on Saturday evening will be provided by The Chain, a Blues, Soul and Rock group, from 7:30-10:30pm. Admission is free for children under 4, 1$ for those from 4-12, and 5$ for adults.
